#15 Coffee with John

Getting up this morning under this rainy and cold weather was challenging to say the least. Only motive was that I had already committed to meeting for Coffee with John.

I tell you what though?

It was utterly, 100% worth it.

No amount of sleep could have made up for the wonderful time I had talking and getting to know better an individual that is just radiant and amazing on so many levels.

The takeaway: a good conversation is priceless, especially over a good cup of coffee.

#14 Coffee with John

November 13th

Today Coffee with John at my favorite local: my house.

The takeaway for today: love and hope can see you through darkness.

Amazing and inspiring to hear how people have overcome obstacles and the many challenges life throws at you at any given moment.

Another great Coffee with John this morning.

The takeaway: amazing how others can inspire you with their tenacity, strength, and honesty.

I am inspired to be more candid and direct without anger, viciousness, malice or any expectations. It’s just about letting your feeling, emotions and thoughts be heard.

#12 Coffee with John

Had my second virtual Coffee with John early this morning. I don’t know why I was initially resistant to the whole idea of virtual meetups. Well, actually I know why, but both past experiences have been great on their own right.

The takeaway, and it’s worth repeating: don’t be hesitant to try new things.

So those that had asked me to do Facetime/Skype (or whatever version of it) and I had totally ignored, I am sorry.

Truly, I am but you have to understand my goal of setting up these Coffee with John sessions have been (and continue to be) for me to get out of the house for my own personal reasons.

But now, I am more than willing to do the virtual meet-ups. So let’s do it. Send me a message and we will set a time to “meet up.” Just bring your own coffeeVirtual Coffee2

#11 Coffee with John

I want to thank my “anonymous” sponsor for today’s Coffee with John session.

I thank you for your friendship, generosity, thoughtfulness, and love. Touched that you thought of supporting my pet project by sending me an extremely generous gift card.

Truly grateful!

Today’s takeaway from back-to-back meetups: 1) don’t be afraid to try new endeavors; and 2) good conversations can truly nourish our minds and spirit.

#10 Coffee with John

November 8th

I don’t have a picture for today’s Coffee with John meeting but what I do have is my takeaway, which is: take the time to sit down and catch up with old or recently acquired friends.

My wife’s friends have become my friends, an invaluable treasure she left that I deeply cherish. They have become close to me and I miss talking to them; so it’s always a treat to catch up with them.

Also, it’s a wonderful treat to get to know better the people that my wife loved so dearly.

#9 Coffee with John

November 7th

Today, I had back-to-back Coffee with John meetups. The second one turned to Clean Juice with John because that’s how we roll – got to be flexible in life.

Also, since it was my first time at Clean Juice (Stonecrest plaza), they gave me my order for free.

The takeaway: it’s okay to be vulnerable.

This was my 8th or 9th Coffee with John and I had not shed a tear until today. It’s okay to cry. Sometimes you got to let it out.

Just glad I had a wonderful, kind and just all around awesome friend to lend me a shoulder to cry on.Tuesday

#8 Coffee with John Meeting

November 7th

Had my first Coffee with John at the house this morning.

I enjoyed making the coffee to share.

The takeaway: get to know your neighbors. It might surprise you to learn a bit more about the people that live close to you (you might want to move afterwards). Just kidding.

#7 Coffee with John

Delightful is how I would describe today’s Coffee with John session. The takeaway: don’t judge people without first getting to know them better. We all have more in common than we can ever imagine

Rush Expresso

Had my first threesome this morning – not in that way. Get your mind out of the gutter. Please!

In the sense that I have been meeting people one-on-one for Coffee with John. This morning was the exception and it was good, baby. Again, take your mind out of the gutter. You are just incorrigible.

Anyway…

The takeaway: find the inner strength to overcome life challenges. It might take time or help and guidance from others but how you get there is not the point. The possibility is there for the take.

Another takeaway: ask yourself what are you doing to help yourself and your community in your daily life?IMG_20181105_085542
